My Sister-in-law's Baby Shower

Diamond Bar, California

When I first heard the news, I couldn’t wait to hold that tiny thing in my arms!

I was going to be an aunt, can it get any more exciting?! I love nothing more than tiny little things and oh boy was this going to be tiny. The celebration had to begin and it was starting with a baby shower!

When it comes to event planning, I have my love and hate moments but its all fun in the end with the help of my family.

I first started with an inspiration image. I knew I didn’t want it to be pink or blue because lets be real, everyone does that. This picture of cutely made cookies by @loveivycustomcookies became the theme and concept of the baby shower. It was just perfect because there was going to be a gender reveal at the shower and this color palette wouldn’t take a chance to make it obvious.

Flowers, the icing on top of everything! I already knew I was going to have flowers before I even thought of a concept. For this I ended up at the Los Angeles Flower Market and put together a beautiful flower palette.

Now it was time to start shopping and planning. I will be sharing with you some of the places I shopped at for the event and where I found good deals.

Those of you who have been following me already know that I always end up at the 99 cents store. I found these deals in the great value section.

I had taken you guys with me on my Hobby Lobby journey, so some of you might be familiar with these items. I don’t always shop there, but this time I found some great pieces for the decor, including the frames below.

Of course Amazon was going to come in handy. All the goodies above were found on amazon.

I found these images on google and photoshopped the colors of our color palette. These were added into the flower vases to bring that baby shower touch.

What fun is it without some games! I bought these mini clips from Hobby Lobby, and the game was to collect as many as you can, throughout the shower, by making others say the word ‘baby.’ The one with the most clips at the end of the shower, wins a prize.

A Life Style Volume

Aren’t these just cute! I bought them on Etsy for games during the shower.

And that’s how I planned and designed the baby shower. I captured some details for you to see; I hope this inspired you for your next event!

Why are cakes so expensive?! I am a simple girl who likes the simple clean design. All I wanted was a 2 tier round cake with 5 roses; all the bakeries were charging me more than $200. I decided to order a plain white 3 tier round cake and decorate it myself. This saved me a lot of money! The ‘oh baby’ cake topper was found on amazon and the flowers were from the LA Flower Market. (view my baby shower highlight on my Instagram to see how I decorated it)

No Box Gifts! An antique chest was put at the entrance for all the money envelopes and greeting cards.
