Baby Dhriti turns 6 months!
Location: Neighborhood Park & In-house Session
I couldn’t get enough of this adorable little girl, that I had to photograph her! Her mother mentioned she was turning 6 months and I figured it would be a perfect time to shoot this cute diva.
-All photos were taken from Nikon D5100 – Lens 55-300mm and edited on Lightroom.
Oversized Hat
We started off with an outdoor session at a local neighborhood park. It was the perfect lighting to catch Baby Dhriti’s soft glowing skin and precious eyes. However, I still felt like something was missing, some sort of character and/or excitement in the pictures. And so playfully I placed my oversized hat on her and I couldn’t have be more pleased with the outcome. Even though she had some interesting difficulties with the oversized hat, she wore it so well!
Indian outfit & golden hour
Since Navaratri (Indian Festival) is coming up soon, her mother requested to do an outfit change into her first Indian wear. It was a perfect time of the golden hour to light up her traditional outfit. She was getting a little cranky by this time but I was able to catch a few of her smiles with a little help from mommy.
first cake smash!!!
Baby Dhriti was hungry by the third session and she was all ready for her cake smash. Except she had never seen a cake before, so when it was placed in front of her, she did nothing but stare at it. Once she realized the sweetness, Baby Dhriti was fully caked!
Indoor photoshoots have always been a challenge for me. Because of the different types of lighting and limited interior options, it becomes difficult to get interesting shots. I played it safe and added a white sheet behind to block the distraction behind her and focused on her expressions and the mess!
Experience
Overall, I had a great time shooting a baby for the first time! Baby Dhriti is filled with cuteness and I can’t wait to show it all to her family. I hope you enjoyed my photo session with Baby Dhriti. View photography highlights on my Instagram account @alifestylevolume to see behind the scene. Thank you for stopping by and feel free to leave comments.
